Charlotte B-Cycle, the first bike share program in North Carolina is scheduled to launch this month. Charlotte joins other cities across the U.S. in providing its citizens access to transportation for short trips in and around town via pedal power. The City's Leaf Hits 1000 Mile Mark June 15, 2012

Doug Pierotti of the City's Engineering and Property Management Department (E&PM) was the lucky driver who rolled to the 1000 mile mark in one of the Nissan Leaf's that is part of the City's fleet of electric vehicles. Doug describes the car as quiet, efficient and fun. Pierotti uses the Leaf several times a week in his duties as an Engineer for the Environmental Services Group within E&PM. "It gets good acceleration and operates very similar to a gas vehicle," Doug says.
