Doing Business With the City

The Procurement Services Division (PSD) is pleased at your interest in doing business with the City of Charlotte and appreciates the opportunity to provide you with information regarding procurement protocols. Our vendor management philosophy supports a fair, open, and inclusive process that offers the same access and information to all vendors. Once you have had an opportunity to review the booklet, you will need to register as a vendor with the City of Charlotte. Your registration provides the City with baseline information for your company including location, contact and demographic infromation, as well as your areas of expertise with specific commodity and/or service descriptions. You will also have the opportunity to complete any applicable certifications if your company desires to establish itself as a Small Business Enterprise (SBE) or a Minority and Woman-Owned Business Enterprise (MWBE). Finally, for specific contracting opportunities, please register with the North Carolina Interactive Purchasing System (NCIPS) at www.ips.state.nc.us. Your free registration will result in your receipt of electronic notifications of opportunities to bid or propose on projects within your field of expertise that are managed by PSD. Roughly 95% of all solicitations produced by PSD are posted on NCIPS and available for vendor participation.
